2006 TIMETABLE CHANGES
In 2006, due to Tarek's departure overseas, the Mambo Lounge, has been forced to run a different format to the standard 8 week courses that were run in 2005.
With Tarek heading overseas shortly, Tarek and Leisa will be presenting a variety of advanced workshops catered for high level intermediate and advanced on2 dancers.
Further classes in mid to late 2006 will be announced on an ad-hoc basis and conducted by Javier and Leisa, so for any enquiries, please contact us on info@mambolounge.com.au where we will be able to provide you with more specific information as required.
Do not fret, we will be back with more material and regular classes as soon as possible!
2005 TIMETABLE AND COURSE INFORMATION

Individual Class + Social = $18.00 (Intermediate students who pay this are entitled to do the beginners class afterwards for free)
Social Only = $5.00

We have designed these workshops to target the technique, look and feel of on2 style Salsa and we focus on two main levels: Beginners / Technique and Intermediate / Advanced finishing the night with a one hour social afterwards. The purpose of this social is to give our students a chance to practice what they have learnt in class with other students as well as the instructors, to ask questions or if your completely worn out, just intermingle with friends in the laid back art gallery over a tea or coffee. This social is also open to anybody else at a cost of $5.00
Beginners / Technique
This class is suitable for complete beginners and those converting from on1 or 'LA Style' and hence we place the main focus on technique and shapes. Footwork and basic shines will also be taught. Each week we build on the material taught in previous weeks so that by the 8th week, students will have a solid grounding of the fundamentals. Drop-ins are discouraged although still OK if you are experienced 'on1' or already learning on2 elsewhere. We encourage regular attendance due to the structure of the course.
Intermediate / Advanced
These classes will consist of a series of turn patterns and footwork that will be taught each week. Although regular attendance is encouraged, this is not essential as material covered each week will not assume knowledge from the previous week (making this class a little more open and flexible for intermediate & advanced students). The turn patterns will be of an intermediate level moving towards an advanced level which will be designed to challenge. All turn patterns taught will also incorporate ladies and mens styling. These classes will be suitable for those who are both comfortable dancing on2 and those dancing on1 comfortably and who are able to convert. Although they will be designed for the on2 feel, most of these turnpatterns will be leadable on1 as well.We also recommend that all students who attend the intermediate/advanced class join the beginners class to revise the technique component taught in this level. This is offered to all intermediate/advanced students free of charge.
